MARIN SUNSET

A woodblock print done by Lionel Feineger in 1918, and the eclectic architecture of Marin County, California inspired this quilt.  It was begun in '95 and completed in '98.  This quilt has a lot of hand embroidery to augment the fabrics and design.

The back of this quilt, titled MARIN, AFTER DARK incorporates the hills of the composition, without the houses and sunset.  This was a very complex quilt to piece. It was this quilt that allowed me the confidence to believe that anything that one can visualize can be created in cloth.
Honorable mention: Marin Quilt and Needle Arts Show, '95
Second Best, Color: Pacific International Quilt Festival, '98
