This design was derived from a lunch date with my best friend.   She had wanted to commission a quilt from me for a long time and so lunch, with napkins to draw on, sounded like a great start.   This is one of the very few quilts I've made from a few napkin notes and then drawn directly into a pattern.  I always work up designs in my sketchbook.  The imagery came so easily - I think because of our mutual passion for this wonderful piece of the Pacific Northwest.
