HAIKU

images/haiku.lg.o.jpg
I made this quilt for P & B fabrics from the Haiku collection, designed by Debra Corsini.  I love the challenge of limiting my fabric choices and then creating based solely on those choices.  I enjoyed working with Debra as well.  The Haiku collection had a focal fabric, which was floral.  I designed the quilt to show off the floral and the complimentary fabrics of the collection while maintaining an Asian flavor in the design.  Debra was very pleased with this "elegant" quilt.   It was displayed in P & B’s 2000 Market booth in Portland, OR.

Detail of the center of the flower.   The challenge in this quilt was the coming together of nineteen points in the middle of the flower, without creating unnecessary bulk.
